Georgian FM meets Finnish President

Georgian Foreign Minister, Ilia Darchiashvili, met with the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, during his visit to Finland.

The discussions centered around the existing partnership between the two countries, with a focus on prospects for further cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral contexts.

The meeting also addressed Georgia’s progress toward closer ties with the European Union, with hopes that Finland’s political and practical support would aid Georgia in advancing to the next stage after obtaining candidate status.

Minister Darchiashvili expressed gratitude for Finland’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The discussions also touched on regional security issues, highlighting Georgia’s commitment to contributing to global peace and the importance of closer political dialogue in addressing existing challenges.
