Georgian Foreign Affairs Minister Ilia Darchiashvili met with his Argentinian counterpart, Diana Mondino, during his official visit to Argentina.
The Ministry highlighted the longstanding friendly and partnership relations between Argentina and Georgia, with particular attention given to further deepening these ties and intensifying high-level contacts with Argentina, a significant regional and global player.
Discussions focused on the current situation in Europe and the impact of the security environment on the international agenda. They also delved into Georgia’s increased regional and global role following its status as a candidate for the European Union. This discussion underscored Georgia’s importance in the development of transit and energy routes in the southeastern region of Europe.
Trade and economic ties were also a key topic, with both ministers exploring the potential for further development. They discussed Georgia’s favourable trade and investment environment, including its free trade agreements with the European Union, China, and other regional countries.
Additionally, the growing significance of Georgia in the economic and security dynamics of the Black Sea region was highlighted.
The ministers positively acknowledged Georgia’s active engagement in cooperation formats with countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. They emphasized the importance of continuing this tradition to further enhance bilateral relations in the future.
