Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili hosted the delegation of EU special representatives and Member States for Eastern Partnership in Georgia.

According to the MFA, the meeting covered the Eastern Partnership and its development opportunities. The Minister introduced the delegation to the nation’s efforts to fulfil EC’s 12 recommendations. Darchiashvili went into great depth on the reforms and their outcomes.

“At the meeting, the sides discussed the geopolitical challenges in the region. In this context, the focus was on the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia. The ambassadors welcomed Georgia’s progress on its path to European integration and the country’s European perspective,” says the MFA statement, adding that the visit is “particularly significant” and “yet another clear example of their support for the country’s European perspective.”
