Georgian FM: Western partners should respect Georgia’s democratic choice
“I expect that the countries we seek to integrate and associate with will respect the democratic choice of our citizens,” the Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili stated.
“Elections are vital for the democratic and stable development of any country. Georgian citizens take part in elections and decide who should govern their cities, villages, and the country as a whole. As for the reactions of foreign states, anyone who respects democracy should first and foremost respect the people’s choice. I expect that the countries we aim to integrate and associate with — namely the Western states — will respect the democratic will of our citizens,” Botchorishvili said.
