Georgian FM expresses optimism following Borrell's visit

The mood is very optimistic. The visit of EUHR Borrell to Georgia is of special importance, Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili stated.

The Minister said that during the visit, Borrell was briefed on the ruling team’s efforts in implementing the recommendations.

The timing of the visit is crucial, as Georgia anticipates the European Commission’s evaluation in October. We discussed all the priorities set by the European Union and highlighted the significant work undertaken by the country to meet these priorities.

There are some issues on which Georgia and the EU need to align their positions to find solutions. This visit will contribute to a positive assessment in October and ultimately lead to Georgia gaining candidate status by the end of the year,” the Minister stated.
