Georgian FM deems tripartite cooperation format successful mechanisms of regional cooperation

Baku hosted the ninth meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey on Friday.

Georgian FM Ilia Darchiashvili called the tripartite cooperation format meeting “one of the most comprehensive, effective and successful mechanisms of regional cooperation.”

According to the FM, the meeting covered ongoing regional processes and joint efforts to deal with these challenges.

“Georgia firmly supports peaceful coexistence in the South Caucasus and is ready to continue contributing to promoting peace and constructive cooperation in the region.

We expressed hope that Azerbaijan and Armenia will soon agree and sign a peace deal, which will be a turning point for long-term peace and stability in the region. In addition, we discussed the ongoing processes in the Middle East.

We paid great attention to the implementation of the Southern Energy Corridor and also talked about the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project, which is the most important route connecting Europe and Asia,” the FM added.
