Georgian Embassy works to repatriate citizen killed in Israel attack

The Georgian Embassy in Israel is working with relevant Israeli authorities on the possibility of repatriating the body of a deceased fellow, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

The Foreign Ministry expresses condolences to the family of its citizen killed in the terrorist attack in Israel, as well as to the Israeli government and people.

“The Georgian Embassy in Israel confirms the death of one Georgian citizen as a result of the terrorist attack on October 1. The embassy is working with relevant Israeli entities on the possibility of repatriating the deceased fellow to Georgia, which naturally requires some time given the circumstances of their death. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia extends condolences to the family of the deceased for this tragic loss, as well as to the Israeli government and people for the incident. Georgia condemns any act of terrorism,” the Foreign Ministry states.

For information, a Georgian citizen wounded during the shooting in the Jaffa district of Tel Aviv died in the hospital. As a result of the incident, eight people were killed and several were injured. According to law enforcement, the two terrorists who carried out the attack have been neutralized.
