Mamuka Mdinaradze, Chairman of the Georgian Dream faction in the parliament commented about the statement of EU Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell.
Mamuka Mdinaradze said that the right standpoint of the ruling team, to be reflected in the legislation, would contribute to the making the correct decision by the opposition.
“We believe that the law on political parties’ financing is fair, and if a party rejects the parliamentary work and submits an application on boycotting, should not have state funding,” Mamuka Mdinaradze stated.
On Saturday, the EU Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell said that the two legislative initiatives introduced by the ruling party – a new bill package that envisages suspending state funding for the boycotting opposition, as well as a set of other measures against the Georgian Dream’s political opponents – would not help the ongoing negotiation process and caused concern to him.
