Georgian Defense Minister meets Turkish colleague
Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze met his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar within the framework of a trilateral ministerial held in Turkey.
The Defense Minister stressed Georgia-Turkey’s successful strategic cooperation in the defence sphere and praised the Turkish side for material and technical, as well as financial support.
The sides spoke about cooperation with NATO and the enhancement of ties in military education and international training.
Furthermore, the regional security environment, increasing threats and Russian aggression against Ukraine were among the main topics at the meeting.
The trilateral cooperation of Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan started in 2012. Turkey hosts a trilateral defence ministerial this year.
