Georgian Defense Minister attends NATO meeting in Brussels
Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze is currently in Brussels, where he participated in the Contact Group on the Defence of Ukraine meeting at NATO headquarters as part of the Defense Ministerial.
The US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, opened the meeting. Secretary Austin addressed the situation resulting from Russia’s aggression in Ukraine, emphasizing Ukraine’s defence and training needs.
Defence ministers, Defence Forces commanders, along with members of the international support group for Ukraine, discussed the importance of coordinated military assistance to Ukraine in the ongoing conflict.
The Contact Group on Ukraine was established in April 2021 through the initiative of the United States, and it brings together over 50 countries in support of Ukraine’s defence efforts.
