Georgian Defense Forces Commander attends U.S. Army 250th anniversary

The Commander of the Georgian Defense Forces visited the Federal Republic of Germany. According to the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Giorgi Matiashvili took part in an event marking the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, held in Wiesbaden. He was personally invited by General Christopher Donahue, Commander of U.S. Army Europe and Africa.

“During the event, Lieutenant General Matiashvili congratulated the American general on the anniversary and discussed ongoing defense cooperation between Georgia and the United States. The important role of the U.S. in supporting the development and transformation of the Georgian Defense Forces was highlighted. General Matiashvili expressed his gratitude for the practical assistance provided by the U.S.,” the Ministry of Defense stated.
