Georgian Defence Minister meets NATO Chief

Georgian Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze Thursday met with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg within NATO ministerial in Brussels.

Georgian Minister thanked the NATO Sec/Gen for his strong political and practical support for Georgia on its path to NATO membership.

The meeting discussed the security environment and challenges in the region. The parties reaffirmed their unwavering support and solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.

The sides stressed the importance of deepening NATO-Georgia practical cooperation to strengthen Georgia’s resilience, defense capabilities and compatibility with NATO.

Secretary-General praised Georgia’s reforms and the progress made in cooperation with NATO. Jens Stoltenberg reaffirmed the readiness to boost support for Georgia to enhance its cybersecurity capabilities to combat hybrid challenges.
