Georgian Culture Minister meets with Turkish counterpart in Turkiye

During her visit to Turkiye, Georgian Minister of Culture Tinatin Rukhadze held a meeting with Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkiye.

The primary aim of the visit was to strengthen cultural ties between Georgia and Turkiye and to explore new initiatives for collaboration.

The Istanbul-based discussions centred on the realisation of joint projects within the framework of the bilateral cooperation programme. They also expressed their mutual willingness to support initiatives across various artistic disciplines, as well as in scientific research and the promotion of cultural tourism.

During the meeting, Tinatin Rukhadze highlighted the special significance of the Georgian Culture Days currently taking place in Ankara, emphasising their role in fostering friendship between the two nations.

“Holding the Georgian Culture Days in Ankara exemplifies the warmth of our bilateral friendship. We look forward to hosting the Turkish Culture Days in Georgia next year,” stated the Georgian Minister of Culture.

She extended an invitation to her Turkish counterpart for a working visit to Georgia. The parties agreed to organise joint working group meetings in November and December of this year to facilitate the realisation of future projects, both virtually and in person, in Tbilisi.
