Georgian citizen unlawfully detained by Russian occupying forces in Sachkhere Municipality is released

“A Georgian citizen who was unlawfully detained by Russian occupying forces near the village of Perevi in the Sachkhere Municipality has been released. They are now safe on territory controlled by the central government,” the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) reported.

“To secure the release of the unlawfully detained Georgian citizen, the central government utilised all relevant instruments at its disposal, including the ‘hotline’ operated by the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia. The State Security Service continues to work around the clock to ensure the release of every Georgian citizen currently held in unlawful detention in the occupied territories,” the SSSG statement read.
