Fridon Pakauri, who was illegally detained by the Russian occupying forces near the village of Zemo Artsevi, has been freed, the State Security Service (SSSG).
The SSSG reported that the release of Pakauri involved utilizing the hotline mechanism established by the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia, along with all relevant tools available to the central government.
“The responsibility for all destructive actions in the occupied regions of Georgia and along the occupation line lies with the occupying force. The central government, in cooperation with international partners, remains committed to actively working towards the release of all Georgian citizens unlawfully imprisoned in occupied territories,” the agency stated.
