Georgian Church celebrates Svetitskhovloba

On October 14, Georgia celebrates Svetitskhovloba, Day of Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in Mtskheta known as home to Christ’s mantle.

The festive liturgy in the cathedral started at 10 am. Free buses to Mtskheta were available in the vicinity of the Georgian Patriarchate from early this morning.

Records about the celebration date back to the 4th century. Svetitskhovloba is marked twice a year, on October 14 and July 13.
