Georgian CEC delegation observes Armenian parliamentary elections

A delegation from the Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) has observed the parliamentary elections in Armenia.

According to the CEC, the delegation, comprising CEC Chairman Giorgi Kalandarishvili, Secretary Giorgi Javakhishvili, members Giorgi Dzagania and Archil Anasashvili, as well as the Director of the Centre for Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Training, Natia Zaalishvili, and the Head of the Administrative Service, Giorgi Ezugbaia, visited Yerevan at the direct invitation of the Central Election Commission of Armenia.

“In the course of the visit, members of the delegation observed the opening of polling stations, the conduct of the voting process, and the closing procedures. During the meeting with the Chairman and members of the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia, the Georgian delegation was briefed on the measures implemented to prepare for the upcoming parliamentary elections. As CEC Chairman Giorgi Kalandarishvili noted, an enormous amount of work had been carried out in the run-up to the elections.

During the visit, the Georgian electoral administration delegation met with representatives of electoral administrations from various countries to discuss the prospects for future cooperation. Meetings were also held with international observation organisations,” reads the statement issued by the CEC.

Armenia’s parliamentary elections were held on June 7.
