Georgian, Azerbaijani PMs meet

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, met Ali Asadov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Government Administration reported.

The meeting focused on the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan, and the positive dynamics of deepening cooperation across various sectors. Emphasis was placed on the growing trade and economic cooperation and the regionally significant projects jointly implemented by Georgia and Azerbaijan.

The parties discussed the importance of developing the Middle Corridor and the prospects for strengthening their partnership in this direction, as well as enhancing regional cooperation in the field of energy security.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed Georgia’s readiness to contribute, through dialogue, to ensuring long-term peace and stability in the region.

The meeting between the Prime Ministers of Georgia and Azerbaijan took place in Turkmenistan on the sidelines of the global forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust.

“Met with the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Mr Ali Asadov, on the sidelines of the Ashgabat Forum. Georgia and Azerbaijan remain strong allies and continue to work together in support of regional peace and stability. We are dedicated to advancing our strategic partnership,” PM wrote on the social media after the meeting.
