Georgian, Austrian Speakers sign Letter of Intent

The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, and the President of the National Council of Austria, Wolfgang Sobotka, on Monday, signed the Letter of Intent on the Establishment of the “Democratic Workshops” in the Parliament of Georgia.

“Democratic Workshops”, launched in the Parliament of Austria in 2007, aim at the encouragement of civil education amongst the youth, triggering their interest in politics and democratic processes, and boosting their knowledge about democratic principles and parliament, the Parliament’s press office reported.

By signing the document, “Democratic Workshops” will be established to operate with close cooperation between the two parliaments and with the support of the Parliament of Austria.
