Georgian athletes at Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony 

The 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, delayed due to pandemic, kicked off on July 23.

Fifteen Georgian athletes have marched out into the Olympic Stadium, led by flag bearers, Olympic champions, wrestler Lasha Talakhadze and shooter Nino Salukvadze.

Japanese performance opened today’s game, followed by a parade of waving athletes. This year spectators are banned at Tokyo venues.

A total of thirty-three Georgian athletes will participate in the Olympic Games.
