Georgian anthem played as Lasha Bekauri wins Gold at Paris Olympics

Lasha Bekauri, the Tokyo Olympics champion in the 90 kg weight category, defended his title in Paris, securing the first gold medal for the Georgian national team.

His victory marked the first time the Georgian anthem was played at the current Olympics.

Bekauri, now a two-time Olympic champion, beat Japanese judoka Sanshiro Murao in the final.

The Georgian delegation won a silver medal at the Paris Olympic Games, with judoka Tato Grigalashvili (81 kg) achieving second place in his weight category.
