Georgian Ambassador to Turkey to deliver humanitarian aid to earthquake-hit Adiyaman

Georgian Ambassador to Turkey, Giorgi Janjghava will travel to the southeastern Turkish city of Adiyaman hit by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake on 6 February.

In his Facebook post, Janjghava said he would assist with the evacuation of Georgian citizens, as well as provide humanitarian aid to earthquake victims.

“We want to make a small contribution to the evacuation. I urge the citizens and their relatives to contact me personally or our employees via the hotline so that we can assist in ensuring their safe relocation to other areas of the country,” the Ambassador stated.

The fifth Georgian citizen died in Turkey after a deadly earthquake jolted southern Turkey and northern Syria on 6 February, the Georgian Foreign Ministry (MFA) told GPB First Channel on Sunday.

As of now, the Turkey-Syria earthquake death toll topped 24,000, with many trapped under the rubble.
