Georgian, Abkhaz participants attend 15th meeting on persons missing from Abkhazia War

The 15th meeting of the coordination mechanism consisting of Georgian and Abkhaz participants was held in Istanbul, aiming to find and identify people missing from the 1990s Abkhazia War.

The meeting was chaired by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) as a neutral mediator, said the press office of the State Ministry for Reconciliation and Civil Equality, on Friday.

To date, the remains of 526 people have been found and exhumed. As of today, 1,870 people are considered missing within the framework of the coordination mechanism.
