Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said today he had a ‘very successful visit’ to Armenia on Saturday.
PM stressed Georgia’s role in regional cooperation as the country initiated a new platform, leading to ‘close cooperation’ between three countries [Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan].
Garibashvili pledges Georgia is actively playing the role of mediator with both neighbouring countries.
“We set a successful precedent for mediation in June, when, through my direct efforts, we succeeded in releasing prisoners [Armenian POWs] as well as handing over maps of minefields to Azerbaijan following the agreement between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia,” PM stated.
