Georgia to host 2026 Waterski European Open Championships

Waterskiing sports return to Poti. Georgia was named as the host country of the 2026 Waterski European Open Championships at the Waterski Confederation Congress of Europe and Africa held in London.

The tournament will take place on July 24-26 at the Golden Lake in Maltakva, Poti, western Samegrelo region, with the participation of athletes from 20 European and African countries.

Waterski Federation President Ketevan Kublashvili, Poti Lake Club Founder Konstantine Osipov, and Georgia’s Charge d’Affaires to Great Britain Giorgi Archemashvili attended the congress.

“Georgian Waterski and Wakeboard Federation has reached success since we were looking forward to that. The place looks ideal. I know it well. I visited it more than 30 years ago. Looking at the people representing Georgia, I am confident that it will be a very good show. The athletes are excited since they will discover a new place, a new country. I wish it were July,” said Patrice Martin, President of the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF) Europe & Africa (E&A).
