Georgia to face Bulgaria in World Cup qualifier at Dinamo Arena

The Georgian national football team will play its second match of the 2026 World Cup qualifying group stage against Bulgaria at the Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi. The match kicks off at 5 p.m. and will be broadcast live on the GPB First Channel.

Georgia began its Group E campaign with a 2:3 defeat to Turkey, while Bulgaria suffered a heavy 0:3 loss to Spain in Sofia. Both teams, still without points, will be determined to secure a positive result.

Georgia, which made history by appearing at Euro 2024 last summer, has never reached the World Cup finals and is aiming to change that record.

Bulgaria, a seven-time World Cup finalist and fourth-place finisher in 1994, has struggled in recent years. Their last major tournament appearance was at Euro 2004.

Historically, Georgia and Bulgaria have met eight times, with Bulgaria winning four matches, Georgia two, and two ending in draws.
