Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani anew expressed “solidarity and strong support to Ukrainian people in the fight for freedom.”
“We always stand by your side because we know well the price of freedom and the struggle for it,” he said at an event dedicated to Ukrainian Unity Day at the Ukrainian Embassy in Tbilisi.

The Minister believes “recent developments have shown that the world is facing significant challenges, especially when it comes to violating territorial integrity and sovereignty.”
Recalling Russian aggression in 2008 and the occupation of 20% of Georgia’s territories, Zalkaliani said, “Ukraine faces the same ordeal today.” He said Georgia condemns the Russian parliament’s vote on recognizing the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine as independent.
