Georgia secures second EuroBasket win against Cyprus
The Georgian national basketball team has secured its second win in the EuroBasket group stage, defeating host nation Cyprus 93:61. The 32-point margin is the largest victory in Georgia’s EuroBasket history.
Cyprus entered the match without a single win in the tournament, and Georgia, considered the clear favorite, fully delivered on expectations.
Georgia has so far recorded victories over Spain and Cyprus, while suffering defeats against Italy and Greece.
Georgia’s decisive clash comes next against Bosnia and Herzegovina—a direct rival for a place in the knockout stage. The match is scheduled for September 4 at 16:00 and will be broadcast live on the GPB First Channel and First Channel Sport.
