Georgia rotates 85 firefighters to quake-hit Türkiye

Eighty-five Georgian rescuers on Tuesday left for the Turkish city of Adıyaman to replace the previous group, assisting rescue efforts following the devastating series of earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria, killing over 37,000 people, including five Georgian citizens.

According to the Georgian Interior Ministry, the group of Georgian professionals has been trained in rescue and firefighting operations.

Shortly after the disaster on 6 February, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili instructed to deploy Georgian rescuers in quake-hit Türkiye.
