Georgia reports 914 coronavirus cases, 635 recoveries, 24 deaths

Georgia reported 914 coronavirus cases, 635 recoveries, and 24 deaths on Tuesday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 524 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 87 cases, and the Kakheti region with 64 cases.

A total of 27 956 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 18 953 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 9 003 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 3, 27 %, while 2, 43 % in the past 14 days. As of June 22, 238 220 people got the coronavirus vaccine.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 360 055, among them, 346 217 people recovered and 5 199 died.

There are 32 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 2 698 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 605 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.
