Georgia reports 671 coronavirus cases, 657 recoveries, 17 deaths

Georgia reported 671 coronavirus cases, 657 recoveries, and 17 deaths on Friday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 376 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 72 cases, and the Shida Kartli region with 41cases.

A total of 28 593 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 15 354 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 13 239 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 2, 35 %, while 2, 47 % in the past 14 days. As of June 18, 225 666 people got the coronavirus vaccine.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 357 591, among them, 343 377 people recovered and 5 131 died.

There are 42 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 2 825 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 599 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.
