Georgia reports 5 486 coronavirus cases, 2 893 recoveries, 46 deaths

Georgia reported 5 486 coronavirus cases, 2 893 recoveries, and 46 deaths on Tuesday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 2 985 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Adjara region with 569 cases, and the Imereti region with 563 cases.

A total of 57 546 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 39 284 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 18 262 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 9. 53 %, while 8.1% in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 968 313, among them 916 421 people recovered and 14 264 died.

There are 69 people quarantined, 4 431 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 1 801 asymptomatic and mild symptom patients are placed at the government-assigned facilities.

As of January 11, 2 565 599 people got the Covid-19 vaccine, with 10 881 in a day.
