Georgia reports 4,778 coronavirus cases, 4,753 recoveries, 79 deaths

Georgia reported 4,778 coronavirus cases, 4,753 recoveries, and 79 deaths on August 31, the official figures show.

43,741 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 31,605 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 12,136 were PCR tests.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 1,888 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 608 cases, and the Adjara region with 423 cases.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 549,811, among them, 493,414 people recovered and 7,408 died.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 10,92 %, while 9,76% in the past seven days.

There are 78 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 7,457 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 2,840 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.

Currently, out of 1,650 critical patients, 369 require mechanical ventilation.

As of today, 1,184,306 people got coronavirus jab with 25,670 in a day.
