Georgia reports 3,656 coronavirus cases, 3,066 recoveries, 32 deaths

Georgia reported 3,656 coronavirus cases, 3,066 recoveries, and 32 deaths on January 17, the official figures show.

29,711 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 16,196, tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 13,515 were PCR tests.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of  2,530  Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Adjara region with 330 cases, and the Imereti region with 213 cases.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 12,31%, while 9,69% in the past week.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 999,343 among them, 931,507 people recovered and 14,481 died.

There are 54 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 4,500 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 2,092 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.

Currently, out of 1,001 critical patients, 289 require mechanical ventilation.

As of today, 2,612,313 people got the coronavirus vaccine, with 2,290 in a day.
