Georgia reports 3 542 coronavirus cases, 2 234 recoveries, 64 deaths

Georgia reported 3 542 coronavirus cases, 2 234 recoveries, and 64 deaths on Saturday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 1 648 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 558 cases, and the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region with 276 cases.

A total of 57 978 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 34 558 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 23 420 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 6, 11%, while 7, 93% in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 886 364 among them 827 676 people recovered and 12 695 died.

There are 37 people quarantined, 6 164 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 1 174 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are placed at the government-assigned facilities.

As of December 11, 2 300 323 people got the Covid-19 vaccine, with 11 184 in a day.
