Georgia reports 2 784 coronavirus cases, 2 070 recoveries, 53 deaths

Georgia reported 2 784 coronavirus cases, 2 070 recoveries, and 53 deaths on Saturday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 1 236 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 429 cases, and the Adjara region with 215 cases.

A total of 51 054 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 31 443 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 19 611 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 5, 45 %, while 7, 11 % in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 906 965 among them 854 630 people recovered and 13 024 died.

There are 40 people quarantined, 5 737 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 1 106 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are placed at the government-assigned facilities.

As of December 18, 2 372 433 people got the Covid-19 vaccine, with 9 398 in a day.
