Georgia reports 2 676 coronavirus cases, 2 966 recoveries, 63 deaths

Georgia reported 2 676 coronavirus cases, 2 966 recoveries, and 63 deaths on Tuesday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 1 063 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 439 cases, and the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region with 227 cases.

A total of 42 772 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 28 677 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 14 095 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 6, 26 %, while 5, 74 % in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 928 030 among them 888 022 people recovered and 13 646 died.

There are 42 people quarantined, 4 951 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 857 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are placed at the government-assigned facilities.

As of December 28, 2 481 500 people got the Covid-19 vaccine, with 13 377 in a day.
