Georgia reports 2 090 coronavirus cases, 1 768 recoveries, 76 deaths

Georgia reported 2 090 coronavirus cases, 1 768 recoveries, and 76 deaths on Saturday, the official figures show.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 946 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 309 cases, and the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region with 150 cases.

A total of 48 649 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 26 892 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 21 748 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 4, 3 %, while 6, 12 % in the past 14 days.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 922 707 among them 878 022 people recovered and 13 443 died.

There are 40 people quarantined, 5 157 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 977 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are placed at the government-assigned facilities.

As of December 25, 2 454 879 people got the Covid-19 vaccine, with 11 808 in a day.
