On Rustaveli Avenue, the memory of the victims of April 9 was honored from the morning.
Representatives of the diplomatic corps in Georgia attended the memorial. Acting U.S. Ambassador Alan Purcell laid a wreath, joined by diplomats from the embassies of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. The EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski, and the German Ambassador, Peter Fischer, were also present. In addition, the Danish Ambassador, Anne Toft Sørensen, participated alongside other ambassadors from the Nordic and Baltic countries.
Officials from the Georgian government and legislature attended the ceremony, including President Mikheil Kavelashvili.
Members of various faith communities paid tribute to the victims.
