Georgia marks 33rd anniversary of fall of Sukhumi with flags at half-mast

To mark the 33rd anniversary of the fall of Sukhumi and honor the memory of those who died in the war in Abkhazia, the state flag of Georgia has been lowered at the Parliament building, the Presidential Palace, and the administrative buildings of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

By government decree, the state flag has been lowered on administrative buildings across the country.

Hostilities in Abkhazia began on August 14, 1992, and lasted for 13 months and 13 days.
