Georgia launches human capital program

Georgia has officially launched a human capital program with the support of the World Bank (WB) and the French Development Agency (AFD).

The program aims to boost economic potential by investing in healthcare, education and social protection, with an emphasis on the development of human resources in vital areas.

The World Bank provided USD 400 million for the program, while the AFD contributed EUR 100 million.

At the signing event, AFD Director Rafael Jozan stated France has been working with the Georgian government since 2018.

“We want to engage with the government more since social welfare is the foundation of our work in the country. The government agreed to collaborate with us, but we want to change the approach so that the partners can better coordinate,” he said.
