Georgia: Int'l tourism arrivals see surge in April 2022

About 244,293 international travellers visited Georgia in April, posting a 37.7 % recovery from the pre-pandemic 2019 figure and the soar of 184.9 % year-on-year, the Georgian National Tourism Administration announced on Wednesday.

With 182,381 tourist visits in April, the volume of arrivals surged by 140.5% – marking a 52.3 % recovery for the same period of 2019.

Below is the top 10 countries where the most visits registered in April 2022:

  1. Turkey – 35,959 visits
  2. Russia – 33,556 visits
  3. Armenia – 32,228 visits
  4. Georgia (non-resident) – 20,936 visits
  5. Israel – 15,709 visits
  6. Ukraine – 13,018 visits
  7. Azerbaijan – 11,360 visits
  8. Belarus – 7,507 visits
  9. Kazakhstan – 6,032 visits
  10. Iran – 5,994 visits
