Georgia hosts NATO Military Police Multinational Battalion exercise SHARP LYNX 2026

Georgia is hosting the computer-assisted exercise SHARP LYNX 2026 of the NATO Military Police Multinational Battalion. The opening ceremony was held at the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Centre (JTEC).

The event was attended by Deputy Chief of the Georgian Defense Forces, Major General Irakli Chichinadze; Head of the Military Police Department, Brigadier General Shalva Shengelia; and JTEC Commander, Colonel Davit Gagua, who wished the participants success.

Following the completion of the exercise, the capabilities of the Georgian Defense Forces’ Military Police will be assessed.

SHARP LYNX 2026 is the final activity under the roadmap adopted for Georgia’s accession to the NATO Military Police Multinational Battalion.

Held within the framework of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP), the exercise aims to further improve interoperability, staff procedures, coordination and command-and-control capabilities in a multinational environment.

Representatives of military police units from Georgia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia and Hungary are participating in the exercise.
