Georgia crowned World Champion in team para judo in Tbilisi

The World Para Judo Championships concluded in Tbilisi, with the Georgian para judo team winning the world title in the team competition on the final day.

In the J2 category final for athletes with visual impairments, Georgia defeated the team competing under a neutral flag 4-2.

Georgia’s team consisted of Revaz Chikoidze, Giorgi Kaldani, Zviad Gogochuri, Zurab Zurabiani, Levan Gugava and Bachuki Shelia.

The tournament was held with the support of Georgia’s Ministry of Sports and the Tbilisi City Hall, while Georgia’s Public Broadcaster provided media support.

A record 312 para-athletes from 44 countries participated in the World Championships.
