Georgia has won the mixed team event at the European Judo Championships in Montenegro, defeating Italy 4-3 in a nail-biting final that went down to a golden score decider.

In the final, Mariam Chanturaia, Guram Tushishvili and Eter Liparteliani secured victories for Georgia, while Luka Maisuradze, Sofia Somkhishvili and Mikheil Bakhbakhishvili suffered defeats.

Georgia’s path to the final included comprehensive victories over Azerbaijan (4-0), Austria (4-1) and Germany (4-0).

This success comes after an already impressive performance in the individual competitions, where Georgia collected four medals. Giorgi Sardalashvili and Ilia Sulamanidze became European champions, while Eter Liparteliani and Tato Grigalashvili earned silver medals.
