Georgia among top countries with struggle against trafficking in US State Department report
Georgia fully satisfies standards with struggle against trafficking and is among top countries, evaluated on 4-scale rating, which continue firm and irreversible efforts in that direction – says the report of June 25 of US State Department on Trafficking.
The report was published by Georgian General Prosecutor’s Office. Georgia is the only country among Eastern Partnership countries, which ranked first on Tier 1.
The document says that Georgian General Prosecutor’s Office is leading strict policy against human traffickers, identifies victims and opens investigation in a timely manner.
In 2019, Georgia opened criminal cases against 27 traffickers and 29 people were found victims out of them 27 – women and 2 –men.
