Georgia among top 20 in Europe in Corruption Perception Index, Deputy Finance Minister says

Georgia ranks 41st globally, and enters the top 20 in Europe for the first time in the 2022 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), the Deputy Finance Minister, Mikheil Dundua, stated on Friday.

Georgia, he claims, is the regional leader in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

“In the 2022 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), Georgia ranks 41st globally and enters the top 20 in Europe for the first time. Georgia ranks similar to the Czech Republic, Italy and Slovenia with 56 points. Georgia leads the Black Sea region, the Caucasus, and Central Asia,” Deputy Finance Minister said.

The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) is the most widely used global corruption ranking in the world. It measures how corrupt each country’s public sector is perceived to be, according to experts and businesspeople.
