Georgia advances to EuroBasket round of 16

The Georgian basketball team suffered a defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the final round of the EuroBasket group stage but still retained a chance to qualify for the playoffs. Their fate depended on the outcome of the Greece–Spain clash.

In a dramatic encounter, Greece edged out Spain 90:86, securing Georgia’s passage to the round of 16 for the third time in the nation’s history.

Georgia will now face France in the knockout stage, with the match scheduled for September 7.
