GD’s Zarkua says human rights protected in Georgia
Georgian Dream member, Irakli Zarkua, on Wednesday, echoed the European Union’s recent report on human rights and democracy, saying “Georgia has a solid human rights framework, including legislations and policies in line with international and European standards. However, implementation should be strengthened in several areas.”
“I thank them [EU] for this objective and correct assessment,” Zarkua noted, stressing that “human rights are protected in Georgia.”
“Do you think that only we have disappointed Vashadze [Strategy Agmashenebeli party leader] here? There are also disappointed people there – [MEP Anna] Fotygas, Rasa [Juknevičienė] who can’t go out in their country as they have the status of being disappointed. Such disappointed people got paid for smear campaigns against our country and state,” he added.
