GD's Mdinaradze unveiled plans to develop media law based on British model
“We will start working from tomorrow to initiate a Law on Media that we will adopt in accordance with the British model and legislation,” stated Mamuka Mdinaradze, the parliamentary majority leader.
In an explanation of the proposed law, Mdinaradze clarified that this new legislation will establish stringent standards for media objectivity, journalistic ethics, and monitoring mechanisms to protect these principles.
“Foreign source funding of media outlets will be restricted,” Mdinaradze emphasized, “Naturally, this will not impede income from commercial advertising and similar revenues.”
